Welcome to our website!
Welcome to the St Kevin’s Primary School website. As a member of Brisbane Catholic Education we value high quality, inclusive Catholic Schooling.
Our school caters for students from Preparatory through to Year 7. We have two streams at each year level. The school offers a comprehensive and quality curriculum. St Kevin’s also provides excellent pastoral care within a Catholic environment, linking closely with the Parish and local community.
Our school focuses on assisting students to reach their full academic potential, develop Christian faith and acquire social confidence and responsibility. In our school, families become part of a community which seeks positive Christian values for their children. It is a place where lasting friendships are established.
This website provides a great variety of information about St Kevin’s and is useful for those who wish to know what we can offer. It is also a practical and comprehensive way for current families to access a range of documents relating to school routines, events and policies. |

PREP MOTHER'S DAY PAMPERING MORNING
Last Friday 11th May, the Prep students and their teachers put on a Mother's Day pampering morning.
The children had a lot of fun and enjoyed giving their mums shoulder massages, washing their hands followed by a hand massage and painting their nails.
The pampering was followed by a delicious morning tea prepared by the Prep students. Thank you to all the mums that came along.
We hope you
had a great
morning!
FAMILY FUN DAY
Don't forget the family fun day on Saturday 19 May. It promises to be a great day and we need as many families as possible to come along and make it a great success. As always we also need help to ensure that everyone gets to enjoy the occasion. Please offer your assistance for part of the day so the work is shared and all can enjoy time with their families and friends.
SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME – CONFIRMATION
On Saturday 26th May and Sunday 27th
May the majority of our Senior students
will be celebrating the Sacrament of
Confirmation. Thank you to those
parents who have offered to bring a
plate or help out at one of the Masses.
Also, thank you to those students in the
choir who have offered to sing at one or
both of the Masses.
Next Wednesday 23rd May all students
receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation
on Saturday 26th May are required to
attend a practice session followed by
Reconciliation. Then on Thursday 24th
May all students receiving the Sacrament
of Confirmation on Sunday 27th May are
also required to attend a practise
session. Both evenings are compulsory.
They will begin at 6:00pm in the
church. For the first 45 minutes the
children will practice the parts of the
Confirmation Mass. From 6:45pm all
children will then make their
Reconciliation with Father Norris.
Father Long will be available for parents.
ST KEVIN'S CHURCH BUILDING – 50 YEARS OLD
This week, the St Kevin's Church / School building is 50 years old. The first Mass was celebrated by Father Norris this weekend 50 years ago. Of course before St Kevin's church was complete, Mass was celebrated down at the local RSL. Congratulations on an amazing 50 years.
ST KEVIN'S SCHOOL PRAYER
As you may be aware St Kevin's school does not at present have a school prayer. Many Catholic schools have a school prayer and this is often said together on assembly and different occasions. Over the coming weeks, we are inviting students to create their own school prayer for St Kevin's. Each
student will receive an information kit which will contain a prayer template / proforma which will help them create a prayer. Also, they will receive a copy of the school vision and mission statement etc.. which must be somehow reflected in the prayer. All entries will close Friday 1st June and the winner will be announced on Friday 8th June when we celebrate St Kevin's Feast day. Of course, there will be a great prize for the winner.
EARN & LEARN
Woolworths Earn& Learn is back for 2012. From the 9th May, when staff and
parents shop at Woolworths they can
collect stickers from the checkout
operator and place them on sticker
cards. There'll be one sticker for
every $10 spent. Once completed,
they can place their sticker cards in
the collection box, either at school or
your local Woolworths.
Once the program closes on the 1st
July, we can compile all of our sticker
cards and send them back to
Woolworths.
