Infectious Diseases Policy

Based on the spirit of the School's Mission Statement and the overriding principles of our Christian Faith, the St Kevin's school community strives to respond to all children and their families with respect, care and compassion. There will be no discrimination against any person with an infectious disease.

Please refer to the Recommended Exclusion Periods for Infectious Conditions produced by the Australian Government's National Health & Medical Research Council.

By law, parents have no legal responsibility to disclose any information regarding a child with an infectious disease.  The community of St. Kevin's believes however, that there is a moral obligation for the parent / guardian of the child in question to inform the Principal on application for enrolment or as soon as possible after a diagnosis.  This point is made to ensure the health and well-being of the entire school community.
