Project Compassion

Caritas Australia’s annual Lenten fundraising and awareness-raising appeal brings thousands of Australians together in solidarity with the world’s poor to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity. In 2016, we celebrate 50 years since the first national appeal was held in Lent of 1965. The appeal raised the equivalent of $90,000 towards community ‘self-help’ projects in countries like Papua New Guinea, Vietnam and Malaysia.

The Year 6 Social Justice Committee spent last Friday brainstorming and developing ideas to raise funds for Caritas’ Project Compassion this lent. Trinity and Logan will be the first to commence, as they fill a lolly jar and run a guessing competition starting next week. If your child would like to be involved, please start sending money in next week. The charge will be 50c for a guess or 3 for a dollar. All money raised will go to supporting Project Compassion this year. Please help Trinity and Logan make this a great success.
