National Simultaneous Storytime

Wednesday 24th May was National Simultaneous Storytime day. This day is set aside each year to promote the value of reading and books, and to promote an Australian writer and publisher. This year the selected text was The Cow Tripped Over the Moon by Tony Wilson & Laura Wood. The teacher in Mrs Spiteri came to the fore as she read the story to students at assembly. The cow’s attempts to jump over the moon and the consequent situations in which she found herself were received with much laughter. This is a wonderful story as it promotes resilience, one of St Kevin’s learning dispositions, so important to students achieving their learning goals. You will be pleased to know that the cow finally made her jump over the moon and perseverance saved the day!
