Our Mini Vinnies team visited the Geebung, St Vincent de
Paul shop. During the visit, the team donated over 20 blankets on behalf of
the St Kevin’s community. They also listened to volunteers talking about
their experiences with supporting those in need. This experience provides a
very real opportunity for our students to live out the gospel values by acting
justly within our community.
Hang Out For The Homeless
Tuesday afternoon was a very exciting time for our senior students.
Students in Years 5 and 6 stayed after school for our Hang Out
For The Homeless where they began the afternoon with a small
afternoon tea of a basic cup of rice. Anthony Forshaw from St Vincent de Paul was here to share information about the realities that people who are
homeless need to face. The students then carried out some activities
relating to homelessness and how we can support those in need. We love that so
many of our senior students are eager to see how they can support others in our
Fred Hollows Foundation
Last term, four girls from Year 5 made and sold slime in
their spare time and then donated their profits to the Fred Hollows Foundation.
The girls displayed initiative, creativity and thoughtfulness amongst many
other traits. We are incredibly proud of these girls and their efforts.
