Get lost in an Augmented Reality infused Treasure Hunt through a Giant Maze
St Kevin’s School at Geebung is holding a country themed Mayfair with a cutting edge, modern twist.  The school is currently in the process of building a giant 8 metre x 14 metre giant maze which will incorporate family friendly augmented reality challenges.
Melissa Spiteri, the school’s principal, explained “We’re always looking for creative ways to keep our children engaged.  They were excited about the concept of incorporating augmented reality technology into their art after realizing that the technology used in the Pokemon Go app. could be used in other creative ways.  We thought we’d take their passion for technology and create a treasure hunt challenge through the whole Mayfair for everyone in the community to enjoy”.
There will be rides, live music and entertainment, boutique markets, an animal farm, country dancing and all of the other things that you’d expect from a fete or festival.
“We’ve put together instructions on our website so people can download the free app before they get to the Mayfair and we’ll have a technical support desk on the day to help out those who need assistance” assured Mrs. Spiteri.
The Mayfair will be on at St Kevin’s School, 249 Newman Road, Geebung on Saturday 27th May, 2017 from 10am to 4pm.  Attendees are being encouraged to head to our website, for instructions on how to setup their devices for the Augmented Reality treasure hunt.  In addition to this, if families buy ride bands online before the day, $5 will be donated to their school, C&K or daycare for each ride band.
