Maximizing Individual Student Progress

Teaching staff at St Kevin's actively use data walls to identify progress for each individual student. Analysis of this data enables the teacher to identify students who are demonstrating limited progress. A review and response meeting is then held involving the classroom teacher, Principal/APRE, Curriculum Support Teacher and Literacy Team member. This student centred meeting focuses on examining a student’s work sample from an area of concern the teacher has identified. The review component of the meeting focuses on the impact of teaching and the response component focuses on how teaching will be further activated to maximize learning for the student. This is just one example of how teaching and learning is targeted to individual students to maximize progress.
