Education Week Activities

The theme for this year’s Catholic Education Week celebrations was: Opening Doors in the Year of Mercy. At St Kevin’s our doors have been open and many parents and grandparents have celebrated with us. The Performing Arts Soiree on Monday evening was attended by 120 students and their families. Our Junior and Senior Choirs, Concert Band, Piano students and Speech and Drama students showcased their artistic talents entertaining us for the evening.

We had a wonderful celebration of community with an invitation being extended to all our grandparents. The presence of God amongst us, was truly evident as the students held out their hands and blessed each of our grandparents. Our classrooms then became active spaces for sharing learning. A big thank you to our grandparents for taking the time to visit our school! Thank you for the special part you play in our children’s lives.

We concluded our Catholic Education Week celebrations with a community event – our annual P & F Trivia Night. Tables were booked, costumes made ready and the trivia questions collated. Teams signed up for the challenge including parish teams and teacher teams. It was a fun evening in community with each other.
